Community Conversation and The Future of Green in Staunton

Thanks to all who came out to the last Staunton Green 2020 event on Green Jobs and the economic opportunities in Staunton involving Green solutions.

After SG2020 co-founder Erik Curren spoke about the annual Good Jobs/Green Jobs conference in Washington D.C., he invited attendees (mostly Staunton residents) to give feedback on what they would like to see Staunton do to take this community in a greener direction.

Several citizens voiced an interest in better bond ideas that would help the City, businesses and citizen/residents to invest in alternative clean energy sources. Lucky for them, SB1212 at the State level is allowing for just that. Will Staunton get on board?

Interest in SG2020’s proposed City-sponsored Green Task Force was widely embraced by attendees, many of whom feel that more community conversations need to be held so that the passion behind alternatives can turn into the will to take action on conservation and clean energy solutions.
